Open ICT and management systems (ICTSYS)

Project related to everything related to the server and the services that are installed on the servers. Which are acquired in Belgium and moved to universities, although they are not changed every year. Another issue addressed by the project is the realization of free software.
In most cases these softwares are used for virtualization (install a platform and on top of it you create virtual machines, as a physical server performs more and you can have about 10 to 20 virtual machines running on top of a server). This aspect is stable in the universities participating in the project.
The project also serves the central network of the university (Bad Bon), a network that unites all the faculties and the points where each faculty is reached. The cables, the suish and the fibers are purchased to connect them. Until a few years ago it has remained stable, there are more intelligent suish that are changed every 2 or 3 years, and the bad bon that has been increasing.

The last part of the chain is from the faculty inward. That two fundamental aspects stand out:
1-The wired network, which serves all laboratories of all faculties.
2-The wireless network, which has cost more work, more resources, is more complicated, and breaks more.

Areas covered by the project in terms of infrastructure, although there are others:
Training: learn to use with the best technologies and be efficient. A single person must perform more, that productivity per administrator is better, and that he has greater control with less time, which takes training, using programs, techniques and a work philosophy. It is known as debogs, and that acquired knowledge is used to recover what was invested.
Interaction with the industry: the project sells knowledge and support to companies outside the university. It is the way to earn extra money to maintain what you have. For this, agreements have been established with: Vio Cuba Fauma, Railways, Hydraulic Resources and Health.
